Information Technology/Helpdesk Specialist
About the Position:
- Responds to calls for hardware and software support from all facility staff. Identify problem source(s) and resolve through a timely and effective process. Keep affected staff informed as to disposition of the call.
- Establish procedures to track, publish and maintain system problems, staff inquiries, and resolution processes.
- Establish and maintain inventory log of all facility hardware and software, including purchase dates, warranty dates, serial and model numbers, configuration, location, maintenance coverage, versions, descriptions.
- Regularly interface with vendors to resolve problems, respond to staff inquiries.
- Establish and maintain data communications with hospital staff, corporate office, and vendors.
- Maintain, develop and enhance working knowledge of facility standard operating systems, office productivity software, and other application software. Keep up-to-date with industry developments and products.
- Monitors and manages camera systems to include digital video recording equipment.
- Monitors and manages copiers. Assists departments with maintenance as needed.
- Maintains on-going communications with, and is responsive to suggestions from co-workers, supervisors, other hospital departments, and external agencies.
- Offers assistance to co-workers when appropriate.
- Participates in special projects and assignments as directed by Supervisor.
- Maintains telecommunications system (phone system) in conjunction with Plants Ops director; has a working knowledge of phone system and processes.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment (reports hazards and demonstrates an understanding of emergency and disaster procedures such as fire drills and evacuation plans)
Assumes responsibility for maintaining mandatory training requirements. Attends staff meetings and in-services and participates on hospital committees.

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Proven experience as IT/Helpdesk Specialist or relevant position.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
- In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks.
- Knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
- Education/Experience: Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field preferred. Can be substituted with certification or equivalent work experience (2-4 years) in computer operations, multi-operation system, IS helpdesk, and PC hardware.
