MENTAL HEALTH TECH - Full Time (Degreed or Non Degreed)
Rates start at $15.00 per hour Shift differential rates per shift, 1st Shift, $2.00/hour (weekends); 2nd Shift, $2.00/hour (weekdays), $3.00/hour (weekends); 3rd Shift, $2.00/hour (weekdays), $4.00/hour (weekends). Education, and relevant experiences lend opportunity for higher pay.

Our facility is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) Healthcare, of which recognize a commitment to measuring quality and standards of care. Natchez Trace Youth Academy is a highly-structured 115-bed cognitive behavioral program serving adolescent males ages 10-17 years old. Our interdisciplinary staff helps residents refocus their thinking patterns in order to improve their actions/behavior. Our diverse team works together to facilitate the changes that become an investment in the future of each young man's life and his family's life. We are located in the beautiful hills of Tennessee between two magnificent rivers, just 15 miles south of Waverly, Tennessee. Our spacious grounds occupy over 120 acres and include athletic fields, and alpine tower.

Natchez Trace Youth Academy is seeking dynamic and talented Mental Health Tech., to join our team of compassionate, dedicated individuals to help us continue our tradition of helping young men achieve the greatest chance of success possible. The MHT position is a front-line, entry-level opportunity with responsibility for direct patient care of our adolescent residents. Under the direction of the Director of Residential Services. For the safety and security of residents, maintaining appropriate ratio of staff to patients is essential, and, therefore, may require overtime including working double shifts.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensures the safety and well-being of the residents while supporting the therapeutic milieu.
- Participates in the development and implementation of residents behavioral programs by providing care and close supervision of facility residents and documenting behavior.
- Developing positive relationships with residents.
- Implementing treatment plans and providing crisis intervention as necessary.
- Observes the peer culture to see if any problems are present and recmmends and implements solutions if necessary.
- Participates in residents group therapy.
- Attends staff development training to meet all facility and regulatory training requirements.
- Demonstrates thorough program knowledge via residents handbook test and daily activities in the milieu.
- Maintains professional, effective working relationship and good rapport with members of all departments and direct care staff.
- Assures compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent, required.
- Higher level education in the fields of Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice and/or related experience preferred
- One (1) year experience in a residential treatment or children's services program preferred.
- Valid state driver's license.
