PATIENT ACCOUNTS REP (Part-time)

Responsibilities

Peachford Hospital is searching for an experienced part-time Financial Counselor to work in our on-site Business Office from 1p-6p – Monday through Friday. 

What Role Will You Play?

Financial Counselors work with our patients, their families and insurance companies to ensure the financial needs of the patient and hospital are maximized.   Financial Counselors interact with different people on a daily basis and must be comfortable communicating on different levels.

What Will You Get To Do?

• Financial Counselors are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks:
• Meet with families and patients to obtain necessary payments needed for hospital programs.
• Make financial arrangements for self-pay obligations as approved and procure any required deposits.
• Meet with patients who are potentially going to attend another level of care to ensure payments are
• made and that patients are aware of their liability.
• Document work, arrangements, payments and conversations using appropriate codes into appropriate systems.
• May assist with patient discharge process ensuring valuables are returned and financial arrangements are made and kept post discharge.
• May reconcile payments to ledger.
• May review, audit and update payment and demographic information.

Qualifications

What Does Peachford Require for this Role?

A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this role as is above average computer skills including Microsoft office programs.
