What are the responsibilities and job description for the PSYCHIATRIST - Per Diem position at UHS?
The duties of a Psychiatrist are to provide psychiatric diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients with mental, emotional and behavioral disorders and substance use disorders. Assist in providing direction for inpatient and/or outpatient Psychiatric Units. The Psychiatrist shall provide senior back-up coverage and weekend coverage as assigned by Hospital’s Medical Director and /or Hospital’s CEO/Managing Director. Shall provide administrative services as enumerated and carry an appropriate inpatient and/or outpatient case load as assigned by Medical Director and/or Hospital’s CEO/Managing Director. Psychiatrist will attend 75% of physician meetings and 75% of MedExec meetings.

Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited medical school; completed residency in psychiatry, Board Certification required.
Experience: Experienced in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, well developed skills in integrating individual treatment approaches into treatment milieu and good working relationships with other attending physicians and staff.
Licensure: Valid and current license to practice medicine in the State of NJ; current narcotics numbers as issued by the State of NJ and USDEA.
Additional Requirements: Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
