Located on 20 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting, about 45 minutes from Nashville, Tennessee, Oak Plains Academy offers psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents ages 5–17, struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. The Oak Plains Academy campus features a full-size gymnasium, separate academic building, and four dormitories. Our wooded campus provides an excellent opportunity for outdoor recreational activities such as fishing, hiking, softball and basketball.
We are currently looking for an TEAM LEADER to join our team of dedicated professionals. The ideal candidate will be patient, accepting, and compassionate and have a true desire to help children. The candidate is someone who can adhere to strict guidelines for our policies regarding supervision of the youth in our care. There will be times when overtime is required and we are seeking someone who can adapt to flexible schedules and is passionate about helping youth with mental health and behavioral problems.
The Team Leader's role includes providing guidance and leadership to our Mental Health Associates to ensure programming is executed as intended and staff are demonstrating quality resident care. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Oak Plain Academy’s policies and procedures. Ensures that staff are following and implementing the program and unit schedules. Participates in interviewing, training, and identifying opportunities to improve employees’ skill base. Participates in setting standards for and appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems, de-escalation of residents including identifying and implementing actions that reduce physical holds of residents. Must understand, practice and support the 3 Service Excellence standards to foster a positive working environment.

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor Degree in psychology, or related field preferred
- MINIMUM G.E.D/HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA plus at least 2 years experience in a residential behavioral health setting working with youth/adolescents.
- Professional Certification Preferred
- 21 years of age, with a valid state Driver License
- Flexible schedule
- This role requires a full background check including fingerprint, drug screen, and employment verification.
