Cedar Hills Hospital is a 98-bed, freestanding psychiatric hospital and outpatient center specializing in mental health and substance use disorder treatment. Cedar Hills Hospital currently has an opening for a Utilization Management Coordinator who contacts external case managers/managed care organizations for pre-certification and re-certification of insurance benefits throughout the patient's stay, and assists the treatment team in understanding the insurance company's requirements for continued stay and discharge planning. The Utilization Management Coordinator is responsible for having a thorough understanding of the patient's treatment through communication with the treatment team. The Utilization Management Coorindator - prior authorizations advocates for the patient's access to services at admission and during treatment. Utilization Management Coordinator meets and communicates with therapists, case managers, physicians, nurses and other members of the patient team by attending daily meetings, responding to emails and phone calls promptly and through individual physician contact. The Utilization Management Coordinator chairs treatment team meetings, appearls to insurance for denied authorization, initiates authorizations and continued stay reviews as indicated.

Qualifications
Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health, nursing, or related field preferred.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a healthcare setting or managed care company, with experience in patient assessment, treatment planning utilization management, and/or case management.
Licensure: R.N., L.M.S.W., LPC or other healthcare related licensure.
Training: Successful completion of CPR, First Aid, Crisis Management and Service Excellence training must occur within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting in any restraining procedures.
May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
