Financial Controller

A great UHY client is seeking a Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader, a utility player that is linked to a core competency (i.e. operations or accounting & finance), and have Healthcare industry experience.

The Controller role is an onsite position. This is a client direct hire position.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Provide Supervision & Leadership including working alongside Finance Department for AR, AP and Payroll.
• Oversee the company’s transaction processing systems. Implement operational best practices under supervision of the Executive Director.

Accounts Receivable:

• Understand billing process start to finish = Contract, Rates, Authorizations, Services Rendered, Claim
• Submission, Payment, Post Payment
• Process Billing in order to be cross-trained with Financial Services Manager
• Ensure accurate and timely billing each month (within 60 days of date of service).
• Review and Approve all monthly billing and submit/discuss with Executive Director

Accounts Payable:

• Understand accounts, processes for ensuring accuracy of payments, make recommendations/process changes when needed.
• Review and Approve all monthly AP and submit/discuss with Executive Director
• Program, Facilities and HR Credit Cards:
• Ensure that all avenues for potential waste, abuse and fraud are identified and eliminated
• Make recommendation and/or process changes when needed.
• Review and Approve all monthly credit card charges and submit/discuss with Executive Director

Payroll:

• Provide oversight of bi-weekly payroll processing and payroll submission.
• Familiarize self with Payroll SOP in order to be cross trained with main payroll personnel.
• Payroll should be a function of the Finance Department with HR and Operations support.
• Ensure Payroll Entries in QuickBooks are submitted timely after payroll is processed.
• Ensure monthly Benefit Reconciliation is completed after final payroll of each month.
• Oversee the issuance of financial information and reporting to internal or external stakeholders as appropriate.
• Ensure accuracy and assign all finance related functions

Controller Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 5 years Controller experience
• Two years of finance related experience
• Health care field preferred, not required.
• Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks.
• The ability to communicate expressively and receptively in order to follow plan requirements, reports, and activities performed.
• Willing to participate in peer review and accepting of constructive coaching.
• Performs other related finance duties as assigned by Direct Supervisor and Executive Leadership Team.
