Technical Writer II- (E30-2022-17536-F):
Bowhead seeks a Technical Writer II for work on NSWC Dahlgren supporting the E30 Gun Weapon Systems Division to join our team. The position is fully funded and in the first year of a five year contract. The Technical Writer II performs work relating to technical documentation review responsibilities and parts ordering as needed. The Technical Writer II reports to a Team Lead.
- Performs proof reading, editing, and formatting of technical documentation.
- Ensures written material is accurate, complete, and meets editorial and Government specifications.
- Adheres to standards for quality documentation, graphics, coverage, format, and style.
- Researches supplies and materials through vendors on the open market, as needed.
- Distributes supplies to local customer locations, as needed.
- Processes and tracks project procurements in a prompt, cooperative, and efficient manner from pre-order through invoice payment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Three (3) years of experience in administration office environments.
- Proficient with various computer systems and databases.
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 15 to 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
