To provide quality service to medical providers and patients in a customer service-oriented environment.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
Primary Duties (75%):
- Obtain and maintain intravenous access for administration of IV medications/fluids.
- Monitor patients throughout IV infusion monitoring vital signs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of medication administered, location of IV access, vital signs, etc., in the electronic medical record.
- Responsible for the medication records to make sure they are in compliant with State and Federal regulations and reviewing accuracy of daily logs.
- Complete physician orders for tests, injections, etc., as needed.
Additional Duties (25%):
- Check charts to ensure all clinical reports (lab, X-Ray, etc.) are in place and call for missing reports, operative and pathology.
- Triage phone calls and medication refills.
- Room patients obtaining vital signs and medication reconciliation.
- Administer injections and immunizations by appropriate route.
- Assist providers with procedures and general patient care.
- Provide clinical advice to the GI nursing staff (LPN's, MA's) and front office staff regarding GI clinic issues.
- Schedule and coordinate outpatient procedures with Wesley Medical Center, Ascension Via Christi’s St. Francis and St. Joseph, and Surgicare.
- Open access screenings for outpatient endoscopic procedures.
- Track endoscopic procedures weekly from hospitals and surgery centers and cross-check MPA billing department lists to ensure all procedures are billed for GI department.
- Update charts of endoscopic patients by entering impression and pathology results from procedures into the EMR system.
- Coordinate office and procedure schedules for physician with the Department of Internal Medicine.
- Complete insurance forms and paperwork for patients at the direction of the providers.
- Ensure GI staff is maintaining rooms, equipment is kept clean, cabinets are locked, refrigerator temperatures are logged, oxygen tanks monitored for adequate supply and logged daily.
- Monitors all medical equipment and documents appropriate logging information.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Maintain proficient knowledge of organizational emergency procedures.
- Knowledge and practice of Universal Precautions.
- Understand and follow all HIPAA guidelines and procedures.
- Participates in clinic process improvement activities and team meetings to ensure efficient operations
- Other duties as assigned.
Education: Associate Degree (two-year college or technical school) required; BSN preferred
Experience: Three to five years related experience
Certificates & Licenses
Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Kansas. IV Certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $65.00 per hour
