Our client is a large law firm in DC with an opening for an Intellectual Property Paralegal with 5 years of mid-sized or large law firm experience. This is a great opportunity! The IP Paralegal will manage all aspects of intellectual property matters including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and intellectual property litigation. Must have flexibility to work overtime and travel on occasion.
Job Duties:
Assist attorneys in research and preparation of pleadings as well as daily assignments in relation to supporting active litigation matters and preparing for trial.
Assist with drafting and editing domestic documents for uploading with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).
Assist with drafting, editing and filing Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applications.
Support patent litigation, patent appeals and contested proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC).
Organize and synthesize information through the preparation of summaries, chronologies, reports, spreadsheets, charts, logs, and coding forms for input into databases, graphs and other usable formats.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Administratively manage all phases of litigation case.
Manage electronic and hard copy documents through litigation technology.
Legal and factual cite checking including the ability to shepardize and Blue Book a brief.
Thorough understanding of court rules and filing requirements.
Knowledge of Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw and internet search engines for research purposes.
Knowledge of Pacer and ECF filing procedures.
Supervise project assistants and temporary staff.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with Clients, Partners, Associates, Legal Assistants and all staff members.
Qualifications:
BA/BS with strong academic credentials.
Five years of large trial case experience.
Proficient at Microsoft Office applications and litigation support software.
Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited program (preferred)

Salary : $109,000 - $125,000
