Job Description
Project Manager
Job Functions and Duties:
Develop and maintain expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
Perform material takeoffs when required
Create and manage submittals for materials specified.
Create and maintain a project schedule of values
Coordinate schedules with the General Contractor
Order materials and schedule installation for your projects.
Resolve problems that emerge in the preconstruction and construction processes.
Drive the work-in-place billing for your jobs
Control project costs and schedule
Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
Ensure that quality construction standards and proper construction techniques are implemented.
Monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
Attend preconstruction and construction progress meetings.
Provide pro-active and engaged communication to ensure customer satisfaction.
Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
Ability to understand commercial construction contracts
Ability to think holistically, to see the "big picture" and plan accordingly.
Ability to perform well under pressure.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
Typical Physical and Mental Demands:
The project manager must be able to balance multiple and competing priorities, move about construction sites safely, cope with the strong personalities associated with the construction industry, and perform professionally while under pressure.
Typical Working Conditions:
About 30 percent of the project manager's time is spent in the field, interfacing with our General Contractor customers, trouble-shooting issues and providing guidance for installation crews.
