Seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant within manufacturing space to join a Global organization that's committed to monitoring and managing quality and environmental factors for a more sustainable world through data solutions for their clients.
Overview:
The Senior Accountant will deliver critical financial reporting for the organization through leading cost savings initiatives, financial reporting and analysis, understanding profitability by platform-by product and serving as a key financial partner to manufacturing and supply chain functions. This role will help with monthly/year-end closing, financial reporting, inventory, and cost accounting, assisting with inventory counting and system movements.
In this role, you will be working closely with and reporting to our Head of Finance and have the opportunity to participate in financial analysis and cost accounting activities providing insights & recommendations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Preparation of monthly reconciliations and journal entries, including prepaid, accruals, etc.
- Reconciliation of company credit card activity
- Reconciliation of intercompany activity with parent company
- Assisting in preparation of monthly reporting and analysis
- Assist in Sales Tax Compliance and/or other state tax compliance issues.
- Ensure that all inventory items are properly identified and readily accessible to include cycle counting inventories, assisting with the organization of all inventoried items, and the inputting/outputting of inventory data. This position has a great deal of interaction with purchasing, scheduling, production, and the warehouse.
- Assist in inventory counts, both cycle counts and full physical YE inventory, and will make inventory adjustments in the system (SAP)
- Troubleshoot inventory inaccuracies to determine the cause of the inaccuracy and corrective actions to guard against future inventory inconsistencies.
- Cultivate a team spirit and promote inter-departmental cooperation by seeking opportunities to improve internal processes.
- Collaborate with other department leaders to resolve issues.
- Maintain records and files.
- Organizes records and work efforts to assure timely accomplishments of tasks.
- Assists with the maintenance and updating of the bill of materials.
- Works cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Technical Service and Sales, Marketing teams, Human Resources, Product Development and R&D
- Assumes special projects and/or additional responsibilities as assigned
- Advanced degree (MS/MBA), bachelor's degree or comparable training in accounting
- 3-5 years of related accounting experience
- Advanced Excel abilities
- Knowledge of SAP and/or BPC a plus
- Strong analytical skills identifying monthly variances; identification and resolution of issues with manufacturing partners; and assistance with business model simulations.
- Decision making and exercise judgment with cost/inventory accounting related issues.
- Solid Communication and Presentation Skills
