UCT is seeking an experienced and talented Director, Materials to join our team in Austin, TX! The Director of Materials is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the Materials department. This includes services and equipment. Lead and manage activities related to production control, master scheduling, and purchasing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems.
• Develop performance measurement systems including key performance indicators to drive excellence in materials management.
• Set up consignment contracts and manage inventory levels in a quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment.
• Develop material schedules and plan requirements for purchasing materials, using MRP and other planning systems (EXCEL).
• Demand fulfillment
• Work closely with customers and other UCT sites to transition materials for new products.
• Work closely with internal groups, including engineering, quality, and sales to ensure functional specifications are met, parts are available as needed, and product quality is maintained.
• Select, develop, and evaluate managers and individual contributors.
• Work daily with customers to meet demand fulfillment and or transition new products into the factory.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
• Ability to build and develop a strong team.
• Working knowledge of MRP/ERP applications and MS Office Suite.
• Some domestic and international travel.
• Ownership of the department meeting short term demands.
• Hands-on management.

Educational/Certification Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
• APICS/CPIM certification preferred

Experience Requirement:

Work Experience:

• 10 experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a broad knowledge of materials, purchasing, production control methods, manufacturing methods, and techniques.
• Experience in a semiconductor environment is critical.
• High complexity, low volume environment.
• Experience in gas delivery components/sheet metal parts preferred.
• Proven strong team-building and employee development experience.
• Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment.

Management Experience (for people manager job only):

• 8 years’ experience in direct leadership of a department
• Strong management, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication, relationship building, and interpersonal skills.
