The IT Project Manager is a key member of the IT Team managing various projects to meet business needs – overseeing infrastructure projects, application development projects, other business-focused projects, and project governance practices. This includes collaboration with subject matter experts from different departments and the management team. Gather requirements, set milestones and timelines, monitor project progress to ensure timely and effective completion, and manage the implementation and training for users.
Responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities of the IT Project Manager consist of but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for planning and delivery of small to large scale projects from gathering requirements through completion in accordance with the company methodology
  • Lead and facilitate information gathering sessions to validate business cases and define requirements
  • Facilitate completion of Business Requirement Documents (BRD’s), Project Status Reports, and other project related documentation
  • Work with infrastructure and development team members and vendors to create technical design documents and timeline
  • Review documentation and deliverables for completeness
  • Review tasks and deliverable progress to assess and report project status to project team members, other stakeholders, and leadership team
  • Manage project scope, milestones, schedule, and cost. Assess issues for impact on project schedule and delivery. Communicate with executives when issues develop in these areas
  • Manage multiple projects, review resource utilization, and identify constraints
  • Schedule, facilitate and manage project team meetings developing positive working relationships with project team members and stakeholders
  • Monitor project budget and resource allocations
  • Provide input on enhancements to improve Project Management templates, processes, procedures, and governance practices
  • Prepare status reports, executive summaries, dashboards, and KPI metrics
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, IT Project Management, or related field
  • PMP or other certification is preferred
  • 3 years’ hands-on experience implementing IT infrastructure projects
  • 3 years’ hands-on experience managing software development projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 tools is preferred – specifically MS Project, Planner, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Demonstrated success in project management methodologies, waterfall, SCRUM, Agile, etc.
  • Experience with infrastructure technologies, ITIL framework, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology
