General Summary
The position is qualified by experience and/or education and is responsible for directing the development, implementation, and monitoring of the hospital-wide security program. The security program includes but is not limited to patient, visitor, and employee safety, and parking. Develops, implements, and administers approved security plans/programs, including security certifications, education, and publications. Provides solutions to identified security issues. Performs continual assessment and reporting related to new or improved security technologies, and provides recommendations for security products/services that may enhance the organization’s security infrastructure. Provides direction and guidance with regard to the security requirements necessary for transitions to new systems, platforms, or facilities. Provides leadership in security policy development, ensures appropriate responses to security incidents, and performs scheduled and unscheduled security audits, as required. Develops and delivers security awareness and education programs to all BWMC employees on a scheduled basis, and ensures that all non-employees, consultants and vendors receive the necessary security education during their respective engagements at BWMC. Interacts with risk management, auditors, and hospital representatives to ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory, and accreditation requirements pertaining to the security of BWMC’s infrastructure. Provides input to BWMC’s strategic and tactical planning committees and the Environment of Care Committee to ensure that appropriate security measures are included in all organizational initiatives.

Education: Minimum of an Associate of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in business, juris prudence, or related field. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience: Minimum of five years experience as a security professional and includes minimum of two years progressive management experience. Parking garage management is desirable. Basic computer skills required. Able to motivate and train staff in security competencies.
Must be able to write sound investigative and routine reports and correspondence; be able to speak effectively before groups of clients or associates from the organization. Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and legal, regulatory standards and statutes, and develop policies, programs, and educational efforts for compliance of the above.Salary : $1 - $1,000,000
