Key Responsibilities
- Purchasing materials following established policies and procedures to optimize price, delivery, and terms.
- Performing functions such as scribing, trimming, sanding, polishing, drilling, punching, sizing, and deburring using hand and power equipment.
- Cleaning metal parts through processes like hand-wiping, solvent washing, and chemical cleaning.
- Detecting and reporting faulty operations.
- Checking dimensions with inspection devices like calipers, micrometers, and height gages.
- Following written instructions and sketches.
- Training others on job experience.
- Working under direct oversight.
- Demonstrating skill in removing burrs and following safety procedures.
- Understanding manufacturing planning operations and sketches.
- Using mathematics relevant to shop support functions.
- Learning the use of machine tools and precision instruments.
- Demonstrating good manual dexterity.
- Demonstrating safe operation of equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Wearing safety gear like safety glasses, full face shield, hearing protection, heat reflective body garments, and gloves as required.
