The Director of Information Technology develops, monitors, refines, and oversees implementation of corporate information technology strategy. Directs and coordinates activities of the Information Systems Help Desk, Programming, Network Operations, and Telecommunications staff. Maintains necessary financial reporting and purchasing processes.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Analyzes information technology needs and system capacity to recommend and implement plans for system development and operations, hardware and software purchases, budget, and staffing.
- Negotiates and contracts with consultants, technical personnel, and vendors for service.
- Develops corporate standards for and oversees selection, procurement, usage and maintenance of software programs and hardware.
- Reviews reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine cost and impact, and address problems.
- Oversees development, maintenance, and testing of disaster recovery plans and information security policies.
- In accordance with Industry Best Practices and Internal Controls, ensures that system documentation is maintained for all aspects of IT operations and systems.
- Conducts formal evaluations within 7 days of the due date. Provides ongoing informal evaluations giving team members constructive feedback.
- Demonstrates the ability to anticipate departmental needs relative to staffing, services, space, and other resources.
- Assumes authority, accountability and responsibility for the direction of Information Systems and Telecommunications staff. Serves as role model and sets exemplary work standards. Acts as a resource person to department personnel.
- When necessary coaches team members regarding inadequate work behavior or other performance problems. Takes remedial action when necessary following established guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Information Systems or equivalent experience required.
- Masters of Science in Information Systems or equivalent experience desirable.
- Ability to create a budget and report on financial metrics for a GAAP process.
- 5 years in Casino Information Systems required.
- 10 years’ experience in Information Systems operations inclusive of a minimum of 3 years supervising required.
- PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be able to obtain a Class III Gaming License.
- Current Oregon Driver’s License with the ability to qualify for the UIDC’s Drivers Program.
