Position Summary

The Inpatient Rehabilitation Manager is responsible for the oversight of daily operations of Rehabilitation Departments. Oversees daily coordination/management of human resources and supplies to meet patient need, ensures the provision of quality services by thorough oversight of compliance, safety, process/delivery, and targeted improvement initiatives.

The Inpatient Rehabilitation Manager’s decisions and actions with patients and families are determined in an ethical manner practicing compassion and respect for the inherent dignity, worth and unique attributes of each person. Effectively communicates with patients/families, visitors, colleagues, physicians, leadership, and volunteers. All areas of practice and care delivery are monitored to achieve and maintain top decile results and outcomes for patient experience, quality, and patient safety. The Inpatient Rehabilitation Manager follows and adheres to ARHS policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and standards of behavior.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Education
-
Bachelor of Science degree in Physical or Occupational Therapy from an APTA/AOTA accredited Therapy Program required

Master Degree of Science in Physical or Occupational Therapy from an APTA/AOTA accredited Therapy Program preferred

Experience
-
5 years of clinical experience required
-
2 years of successful managerial/leadership experience preferred
-

Required Registration/License/Certification
-
Licensed in the state of North Carolina as a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required at the time of hire

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with the public, patients, family, staff, and physician and acts within the chain of command, utilizing positive verbal and non-verbal skills

Competent in delivering safe and effective patient care within legal limits of license and certifications and hospital policies and procedures

Knowledge of the continuum of care provided in the patient care department

Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service to patients, family, staff, and physicians
