Summary:
Quality Monitoring Specialists will assist the department in achieving goals of the hospital in data abstraction, clinical chart reviews (including nursing and provider data and documentation review), education of staff, nursing and providers about quality metrics, leading meetings, rounding on staff, maintaining quality boards and disseminating information to the staff and keeping up to date on new quality measures that might be introduced by CMS, accrediting bodies or UNC system initiatives. Publicly reported quality grades are a priority for our organization and serves as our True North. Timely and accurate submission of data to various portals and organizations is required, as well as maintaining and administrating portals such as QualityNet. These may include but are not limited to sepsis, eCQM measures, Health Equity, perinatal measures, core measures. The Specialist will support medical staff in their quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance by assisting with OPPE & FPPE reviews utilizing Crimson Software.
As a Quality monitoring specialist, you may be the owner of one or more of these areas, but this may evolve or change over time based on the needs of the department.

Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Registered Nurse with current NC license (BSN preferred) or related bachelor’s degree or higher in health-related field.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
- At least three to five years of experience in health-related field.
LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION
- Registered Nurses must have active NC license or credentialing related to specific degree.
- At least three to five years of experience in health-related field. Project management skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, data management, highly developed computer skills, organizational skills, analytical reasoning, and the ability to think critically and work independently.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Normally works 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday with hospital recognized holidays off.
- May be required to work alternate schedule or additional hours to accomodate need of the department.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
- Work is sedentary by nature but is required to stand or walk.
- Required to bend, stoop, kneel or reach.
- Required to move, lift or carry objects weighing up to 15 pounds and on occasions up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity required for operating Personal Computer and other equipment.
- Must have close intermediate visual acuity. Must be able to hear and verbally communicate with others.
