What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analyst position at unc?
Analysts are temporary employees and are preferably enrolled graduate students in Business Administration, Planning, Public Administration, Agriculture, Industrial Engineering, Information Sciences, and other disciplines. They work alongside other NCGrowth staff to provide technical assistance to business owners, policymakers, and anchor institution leaders in order to create good jobs and new wealth in economically distressed communities. Since 2012, analysts have helped hundreds of NCGrowth clients.This is a remote position. Some travel may be required.Work will start in September 2023 or January 2024.Examples of Past Projects:* Creating financial models, business plans, marketing plans, SOPs, HR policies for small- and medium-sized businesses* Connecting small farmers to grocery chains and other institutional buyers* Analyzing purchasing data to improve institutional procurement processes* Eco-, cultural, and historic tourism development* Supplier diversity strategic plans* Writing economic development case studies (www.homegrowntools.unc.edu)* Forestry and farm management plans* Asset-based economic development planning* Manufacturing process improvement* Data cleaning, merging, and de-duplication of business directoriesExamples of Past Clients:Tortilla manufacturerCounty, municipal, Tribal and state governmentsVeterans housing real estate developmentSmall farmers collectiveAirplane manufacturerMilitary basesRecreation and event venue
