The Grants Specialist is responsible for facilitating all School of Nursing grants management through fiscal oversight. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks: carries out procedures to ensure that sufficient funding is available at all times to cover grant expenses; advises and trains project managers on the proper University and SON policies, procedures and regulations; notifies grant personnel of key deadlines: reconciles monthly reports; processes monthly P-card reconciliation; creates and maintains expenditure spreadsheets with data obtained from reports; prepares all accounting books for newly funded and existing projects; prepares notices of terminations reports and other reports or special projects as requested by the Grants Manager; maintains proper cost coding numbers/letters assigned for Research Support Center accounts; conduct the quarterly Account Manager Meetings; and independently aids in communicating and troubleshooting by actively seeking solutions to any problems that arise and making recommendations to the Grants Manager.
