What are the responsibilities and job description for the RCA Study Coordinator position at unc?
This Study Coordinator position works within the Rapid Case Ascertainment (RCA) core. RCA is a collaboration between UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and the NC Central Cancer Registry (CCR). This core has facilitated population-based, epidemiologic oncology research at UNC, other universities, and national research organizations since 1993. This position works predominately remotely in collaboration with the other RCA Team members. The primary objective of this position is to support population-based oncology research. This is met by the following:* Support researchers in study design and implementation * Interpret cancer pathology reports * Apply study eligibility criteria to cancer cases and enter a subset of patient demographics and pathology report data into RCA maintained databases, focusing primarily on histology and topography* Effectively communicate with RCA team members, hospital personnel, researchers, and CCR personnel* Analyze and create enrollment and accrual reports* Promote relationships with hospital personnel across the state and encourage RCA participation* Promote a strong working relationship between RCA and the Central Cancer Registry * Work with UNC IT programmers building databases* Ensure the unit is functioning at a high level and promote a positive team environment
