We are now hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician I. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the batteries in the Grocery/Perishable departments.
Please note this position requires you to work a night shift. You must be able to work shifts as assigned such as weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime.
Some of what you will do:
- Change batteries for Order Selectors and Forklift Operators
- Maintain battery levels
- Report inaccurate information, deficiencies, and any broken wires, promptly
- Ensure batteries are plugged in
- Monitor level requirement of charge
- Safely operate a battery changing machine
- Secure batteries at the end of your shift
- Collect proper identification for release of equipment
- Keep a daily log sheet and ensure it stays up to date
- Identify and report any discrepancies to your Supervisor
- Utilize a calculator, telephone, computer, and other office equipment

Who should apply?
Professionals with the following:
- A high school diploma or GED
- A minimum of three months of relative experience and/or training
- Ability to read, speak, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs
Here are some of the physical aspects of the job and environment:
- You will perform work in a refrigerated warehouse with temperatures ranging from -20 degrees Fahrenheit to 55 degrees Fahrenheit, and a non-refrigerated warehouse with temperatures that range from 40 degrees Fahrenheit to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Lift 100 pounds easily throughout your shift
- Must be able to twist, turn, reach over shoulders, and stand/walk on a continual basis
- Operate an electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack, and/or other misc. equipment
- Stooping, squatting, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, lifting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
- Use repetitive motions using upper and lower extremities, mount, and dismount equipment.
You must always wear safety garments. Safety shoes that are approved are always required.
