POSITION: SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Growing European machine manufacturing company in hydraulic hose assembly industry is looking for a qualified higher level Service Technician. Uniflex of America, located in Schaumburg Illinois, has an immediate need for a dynamic individual, good at multitasking and very customer oriented. Machinery hands-on experience pertaining to hydraulic pumps, valves and logic a must. Strong mechanical aptitude required. Mid-level electrical troubleshooting required. Previous experience updating Siemens PLC and HMI software required. The Service Technician will be communicating with all levels of employees both within and outside of Uniflex.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
· Work safely both on-site and in our Service Department.
· Field service, repair, machine commissioning and training in North America. Possibly up to 25-50% travel.
· Repair machines returned to our Service Department in a timely manner.
· Deliver start-up and training for customers purchasing new and refurbished machines.
· Field incoming technical phone or video calls providing customers with assistance regarding proper machine function and troubleshooting.
· Prepare customer quotations for field service, customer site preventative maintenance and customer employee training. Assist Sales team with customer visits.
· Write field service reports. Document with photos when required.
· Work with our team in Germany to resolve all technical issues as required.
· Maintain an orderly Service Department.
· Represent the values of Uniflex of America.
Secondary Job Responsibilities:
· Assist Sales by preparing quotations for spare parts.
· Offer suggestions to increase internal and external efficiencies.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 5-years machine repair experience.
· College degree in Mechanical or Electrical Technology a plus, Technical training proven experience a must.
· Candidate should be able to read fluid power and electrical schematics.
· Must have a working knowledge of fluid power and electrical controls.
· Excellent analytical ability, critical thinking, good communications ability both oral and written, and problem solving skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
· Computer and equipment networking skills/knowledge required.
· Ability to travel up to 50%.
· Must have a valid driver’s license.
· Must pass a background check.
· Must pass drug screening.
