Background & Purpose of the Job The Process Engineer role is critical to achieving World Class performance, which means zero defects, zero waste and zero losses. She/he will apply extensively the full range of Focused Improvement methods and tools to counter losses identified in the areas of Safety, Quality, and Manufacturing. As engineer, you will support all IC factories in North America, with particular concentration on the Covington TN site. As the Process Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering the factories results through the Focused Improvement methodology. Working directly with Production team members, site Technical Engineering, Lead Process Engineer and all Pillars to act as the technical advisor and trainer providing coaching in phenomena identification, root cause analysis and the establishment of countermeasures. Also, will be responsible to assist with KPI status reports for all NAIC sites for monthly reporting/sharing of progress. You will leverage your training and technical knowledge to eliminate losses, waste, and increase the production output across multiple work centers or production lines across multiple sites. You will be guided on loss prioritization and elimination by working closely with Cost Deployment, Quality, and Safety Pillar leads. You will also play a key role in moving away from the reactive approach to losses towards a proactive approach. You will report to the Regional WCM Lead Process Engineer. You’re an analytical thinker: You will collect and analyze complex data and learn continuously to penetrate problems’ phenomena and understand root causes. You will be able to apply digital enhancements to processes and workstreams to source data or drive change. You will be key in setting the road map to achieve this goal and drive the culture change through everyday actions. What You’ll Need To Succeed BA/BS degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Food, Chemical, Industrial, or Mechatronic Engineering 0-5 years, entry level role, recent grads considered. Must demonstrate a flair for improvement engineering, digital enhancements, and technical knowledge with a passion for learning. Attention to detail, bias for action, accountability, written and verbal communication skills, data collection and analysis, problem solving, decision-making, teamwork, and judgement Desired: Related experience in FI and kaizen activity or continuous improvement program (WCM, TPM, 6-sigma, Lean, etc) implementation in manufacturing environment. Travel is expected to be approximately 10 – 20% depending upon the needs of the factories. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
