We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team. As an Maintenance Technician and reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will become familiar with our various saw and knife sharpening machines and equipment as well as our facility operations. Your primary goal will be to ensure timely and quality service related to any reactive or preventive maintenance needs.
Machine Technician Responsibilities:
· Conduct routine inspections of machines and facility
· Perform preventative maintenance of all machines and facility
· Perform necessary repairs and maintenance to machines and facility
· Diagnose mechanical issues and correcting them
· Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
· Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs
· Comply with all company safety regulations
· Fix potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
· Use equipment, including power tools, hand tools, electric tools, and plumbing tools
· Keep a maintenance log for machines serviced
· Respond to repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion
· Follow written and verbal instructions from the maintenance manager
· Read and follows manuals, blueprints, schematics and other written instructions
Work Hours & Benefits:
The working hours are Monday through Thursday from 6 AM to 3:30 PM and Friday from 6 AM to 10 AM with occasional overtime. We do provide benefits for eligible employees including health benefits, paid time off (PTO), holiday pay and 401(k).
Skills/Qualifications:
· Proven maintenance experience
· Electrical experience preferred
· Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
· Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
· Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
· Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches
· Proficient with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices
- Proficient in using touchscreen controls and SPS control units
· Proficient performing routine maintenance
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high precision in work
· Strong organizational skills
· Professional presentation and attitude
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Strong time management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
- Ability to climb and work efficiently on ladders
- Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment

Education/Experience
· Must be at least 18 years of age or older
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
· Related degree from a technical college (preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand and interpret technical instructions and specifications
- Proficient in using touchscreen controls and SPS control units
- Familiarity with swaging and shaping techniques and processes preferred
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high precision in work
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
- Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment
