Position Summary
The Inventory Control / Quality Control Specialist is responsible for driving the improvement of inventory control, accuracy and integrity across the Company. The Specialist will work with Warehouse Operations and Company management to determine and set best practices for inventory and quality control systems and procedures that will be implemented uniformly across the Companys multiple warehouse locations. The Inventory Control / QC Specialist will be very hands-on and will actively engage in warehouse activities related to inventory control, counts and analysis.
Essential Duties:
- Develop and implement standard inventory and quality control policies and procedures across all warehouse locations, including cycle counting and audits; may include moderate travel
- Train warehouse staff on policies and procedures
- Research and resolve inventory discrepancies and adjustments
- Identify expired or soon-to-be-expired product, identify outlets for such product, and make/implement a disposition plan
- Identify, monitor and report slow moving and excess inventory
- Identify inventory variances and make/implement corrective action plans
- Work and communicate effectively with warehouse operations managers and staff across multiple locations
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators, regular reports and scorecards
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years work experience in related capacity
- Experience in the Food industry and/or with multiple warehouse locations is preferred but not required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Excel (advanced) and Word; ability to use each of these applications to effectively analyze and communicate with peers and Senior Management
- Advanced skills working with ERP systems; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics ERP systems a plus
- Strong data, analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to utilize all types of material handling equipment within the warehouse
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a cross-functional team as a strong team player
- Excellent customer service skills, with perspective on both internal and external customer
- Must have a positive attitude and be open to new ideas
