POSITION SUMMARY:
**
**The Logistics Analyst provides technical expertise and analytical support to the North American Repair Scheduling Department. The position implements the repair program strategy, coordinates customer communication, provides administrative support and is responsible for maintaining data and reporting on scheduling related matters. The Logistics Analyst is actively engaged in scheduling optimization initiatives, creating repair opportunities for shop assignments and organizing qualification programs.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Analyzing repair program requests to develop customer centric programs that maximize shop operations
- Tracking, measuring and reporting program adherence to drive shopping when demand is low
- Providing concise communication and managing customer expectations
- Developing a cross-functional reporting strategy that considers data integrity, relevance of KPI/metrics reported and provides both leasing and third-party customers with meaningful information
- Driving all continuous improvement including but not limited to, advanced visibility and scheduling optimization, paperless shops, network optimization efforts and repair shop visibility
- Evaluating shop capabilities, shop capacity and shop loading to select an optimal shop assignment.
- Performs a wide range of complex analytical tasks to support varying scheduling initiatives
- Organizing and performing training to support new system users and then verifying the effectiveness of that training
- Maintaining controlled documentation and distributing formal updates or revisions as necessary
- Managing agendas and minutes, the Scheduling Resource Center, LinkNet RBU admin duties, licensing fees, scheduling budget and network wide communication as required
- Maintaining a current understanding of North American regulatory requirements (AAR, EPA, FRA, TC, etc.) and the effects they have on shop repair capabilities
SKILLS/SPECIFICATIONS:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptionally high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Sophisticated user of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher
- Strong knowledge of SmartSheets and SharePoint
- Solid critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized, ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time efficiently under strict deadlines
- Maintain high energy on an ongoing basis, must have high stamina, be results driven, goal oriented and self-guided
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems or relevant field required
- Minimum 3-5 years of related experience
- Rail industry or transportation experience highly preferred but willing to consider relevant industry experience in lieu of education.
- Customer service and or accounting experience is a plus
