ABOUT UNIT

Unit is building the platform to power the next generation of financial services. Our mission is to help companies expand financial access for all. Our simple and powerful banking-as-a-service API helps companies launch bank accounts, cards, payments, and lending in weeks - not years.

Unit was founded by a team with deep fintech and financial services experience and the first banking-as-a-service platform to reach unicorn status. We have raised over $169 million to date from top investors including Insight Partners, Accel, Better Tomorrow Ventures, Aleph, and Flourish and serve 140 customers including AngelList, Honeybook, Roofstock, and many more.

THE ROLE

Unit is currently looking for a Developer Relations Lead to define, build, manage, and grow the Unit developer community and platform from the ground up. You will be the ambassador for Unit in the developer community and will serve as the voice of the developer for our product and engineering teams, translating feedback into features. You will be responsible for both our developer outreach and content strategy and will own and manage our API documentation site.

Our company is currently growing fast. We are experienced founders and builders at heart, backed by top VCs and 40 top fintech angels. *For the right candidate, this is a rare opportunity to build an industry-defining company from the ground up. *

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and cultivate the development of Unit’s developer community
  • Connect with developers to share Unit knowledge and bring back feedback from the community to the product and engineering team
  • Create developer facing documentation, tutorials, and guides for Unit’s API
  • Partner with the product and engineering team to create demos and other developer facing tools
  • Engage directly with our developer community and existing clients to understand problems and translate that into a content roadmap
  • Speak at conferences, meetups, and other events to demonstrate the company’s product
  • Provide technical support to developers using Unit during the sales and onboarding process and work with cross-functional teams to improve the overall developer and client experience

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

  • Have a *technical background *and fluency in Node.js and Python preferred
  • Experience working in developer relations, developer advocacy, developer evangelism, or developer marketing preferred
  • You enjoy writing and have experience developing resources to support a developer platform (i.e. documentation, tutorials, quick starts, API libraries)
  • Desire and experience building and engaging with a developer community both virtually and in-person (when possible)
  • Are curious by nature and excited to learn about how technology will impact the fast growing fintech ecosystem
  • You are able to transform technical topics into engaging, informative, and interesting educational content
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience working with stakeholders and clients in the US
  • Fintech experience a plus but not required
