What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grant Writer and Development Associate position at Unite for HER?
Unite for HER is a national nonprofit committed to the health and wellbeing of those affected by breast and ovarian cancers. It is our vision that every person with breast and ovarian cancers will feel the support of a loving community, and will have access to comprehensive education, services, and tools that enrich their health and well-being.
To achieve this goal, Unite for HER employs a highly collaborative approach to development and seeks an individual to support development initiatives in grant writing, fundraising, strategic relationships, and special projects. This position works closely with staff, volunteers, donors, and corporate partners. Candidates must be available to work in he West Chester, PA, office weekly.

Responsibilities
- Research grant and funding opportunities that align with the mission of Unite for HER
- Draft and submit grant and funding proposals, requests, and follow-up reporting
- Develop collaborative relationships with organizations in alignment with the mission of Unite for HER
- Assist with the execution of the development department's strategy
- Furnish prospective funders with supportive documents.
- Collaborate with development team to steward donors and support development projects, including the annual report
- Manage and maintain prospecting files and grant reporting data
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years of grant writing experience or master’s degree
- Proficient with measuring and reaching income goals
- Proficient with MS Office Word, Excel and Teams
- Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong people skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Hybrid work schedule with one day required in West Chester, PA, office
