The Lab Technician’s primary responsibility is to execute established QC methods to perform analysis on animal feed and ingredients. Additional duties include assisting Lab Research Associates and performing routine laboratory tasks.
Primary Job Responsibilities/Duties:
50%: Analyzes grain and finished feed samples for mycotoxins using ELISA kits
20%: Performs enzyme analysis following established protocols on animal feed, ingredients and other nutrition products
15%: Receives samples and entering customer information into lab database
10%: Performs routine lab and equipment maintenance procedures including: cleaning glassware, restocking supplies and preparing reagents
5%: Assists Research and Innovation group in execution of animal trials, sample collection, and other duties as required by the R&I department
Minimum Job Qualification Requirements:
Education/Training:
· Associates degree in science or related field or equivalent professional experience
Relevant Job Experience:
· 1-2 years of lab experience
Specialized Job/Technical Knowledge:
· Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures and how to use laboratory equipment for weighing, pipetting, pH calibration, performing dilutions, etc.
· Knowledge of experimental procedures
· Knowledge of how to use Microsoft Office
· Experience using a spectrophotometer is preferred
