Rapidly expanding Vascular Access Company seeks qualified, experienced, PICC Line Nurses!
PICC Team Registered Nurse - Job Description: The PICC Line Registered Nurse must be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in the care of patients requiring IV access. The RN will provide Vascular Access device insertions (PICCs, Mid-Lines, PIV’s, access, de-access Ports) in a variety of settings, including; Hospitals, Long Term Care Facilities, and Home Care Settings, insertion of PICC lines, maintaining PICC and other central venous access devices, difficult peripheral IV site starts, troubleshooting catheters, declotting, repositioning and monitoring quality metrics related to these devices.
Position Requirements:
· Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current State Nursing licensure as a Registered Nurse; BLS - Healthcare provider.
· The PICC RN must be able to respond and communicate effectively. He/she must utilize critical thinking skills when problem solving vascular accessissues.
· The PICC RN will educate patients and families regarding PICC lines and other central venous access devices.
· Education: Graduateof an accredited school of nursing. (CRNI or VA-BC credentials is a plus.)
· Experience: Minimum of twoyears bedside clinical RN experience required. One year as a PICC/Vascular Access nurse “required”,or a “minimum”of 100 documented insertions.
PICCTeam (RN) Special Qualifications: Must complete proctoring and demonstrate competency with PICC insertions using ultrasound. Strong critical thinking skills. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and physicians.
Degree of supervision required: Employee will be expected to perform most all job duties independently and in accordance with established company policies and procedureswhichincludes, but not limited to troubleshooting catheters, declotting and repositioning.
Driving to facilities using personal vehicle is required, completion of “time out” sheet is required with each insertion.
