SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for supervising the die shop team and managing the technical aspects to deliver good tools for the highest quality results.
JOB EXPERIENCE
- Four years’ die shop experience with aluminum extrusion.
- KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Train and supervise the die shop team to achieve productivity levels, turnaround times, and appropriate quality levels.
- Responsible for departmental personnel issues related to development, motivation, and discipline.
- Develop die technology which improves the Quality of the extruded tube, reduces extrusion failure, maximizes productivity, and minimizes the scrap ratio and die cost.
- Monitor the die failure at the press and the occurrence of defective tubes related to die quality and take action.
- Responsible for sending the best dies to the press, resulting in no extrusion failure or defective tubes.
- Troubleshoot problems with used dies to detect technical inefficiencies.
- Approve all dies recommended to be scrapped.
- Develop and maintain documentation for die shop operations.
- Approve all supplies and material requisitions.
- Monitor the die life so action can be taken quickly.
- Communicate with die suppliers so they will deliver the dies on time and with the highest quality.
- Support APQP request of new product.
- Ensure a healthful and safe work environment in accordance with the company safety program.
- Support and assist in efforts and ongoing surveillance audits.
- Support the annual budget process by estimating die expense, die tooling, die coating and controlling Die Shop department expenses.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Ability to complete an assigned task in a safe manner and in a constant state of alertness and must understand and follow all safety and quality rules and procedures.
- Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with craft workers, laborers, subcontractors, co-workers, supervisors, and others on the jobsite and in the office.
- Must be able to follow company policies and procedures.
- Other job duties as assigned.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
