UFG is currently hiring for a Premium Audit Manager to work with our team! As a Premium Audit Manager you will manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of the regional premium audit department. The position encompasses all aspects of the premium audit function including the supervision of outside audit staff and inside staff. This position will manage department budget to meet production goals and attainment of service standards and objectives.
Responsibilities:
Administer annual performance reviews that establish and achieve realistic performance standards; develop efficient workflow procedures to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner; and as error-free as possible; pursue innovative change; pursue continuous improvement.
Track additional/returned premium.
Develop a knowledgeable, stable and productive staff; provide opportunities for continuous skill development and encourage active participation.
Determine staff needs. Interview and select staff. Prepare and conduct performance reviews. Administer salary program. Manage staff, taking appropriate action, as deemed necessary. Assist in development of staff through training, traveling with and coaching field staff and promote further individual development and education.
Develop annual operating plan; set unified, realistic, challenging goals; establish procedure for monitoring success.
Promote good communication between Audit and other departments.
Assign audits to outside vendors when necessary/appropriate
Qualifications:
Education:
Four-year college degree required
AINS, APA, CPCU or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years management experience in related fields.
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Knowledge of accounting/payroll records and commercial insurance practices.
Knowledge of audit requirements, techniques, industry manuals and effective workflows.
Knowledge of commercial lines and workers compensation policies.
Strong personnel management and communication skills.
Coaching and evaluation skills, ability to motivate and develop skills
Knowledge of PAAS and SilverPlume for commercial lines classifications.
Must have strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor others and teach best practices.
Ability to manage remote employees.
Ability to identify and assess training needs.
Must be able create and conduct training programs to develop staff.
Knowledge of audit policies and procedures.
Ability to delegate and prioritize workloads of team.
Strong communication skills through written or verbal communication.
Must be able to present information and interact with other disciplines.
Working Conditions:
General office conditions. Position may require outside visits to insureds and occasional overnight travel.
