Intake and Eligibility Specialist Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Recruitment, Eligibility, Enrollment, and Document uploads (REED) for potential Beneficiaries.
- Conduct Beneficiary orientation and coordinate and/or obtain documents such as Employment and Identification source documents in accordance with agency and USDA AMC requirements.
- Schedule initial intake online, in person, or via phone conference with Beneficiary and other eligible family members to obtain separate supporting eligibility determination.
- Review pre-applications and assist participants in collecting documents to verify their eligibility for program requirements.
- Request documentation to determine client eligibility and forward the request for payment approval to appropriate staff in accordance with established procedures.
- Participate in Case Reviews as part of the QA Data Validation and will perform follow-up with Beneficiaries when addressing AEYON database concerns.
- Builds relationships with participants and refers participants to other programs, internal or external.
- Implement and monitor ongoing recruitment activities within the catchment area to ensure beneficiary enrollments are achieved.
- Interprets policy to ensure compliance with federal laws, regulations, and program policies.
- Coordinate/implement and monitor the enrollment process of Beneficiaries, including eligibility status and enrollment, and ensuring that Eligibility is 100% accurate in accordance with the funding source.
- May serve as a liaison to sub-recipients and other partners to ensure eligibility requirements are met.
- Maintain record keeping system up to date to ensure all eligibility documentation is uploaded for all clients prior to submitting and forwarding for payment processing.
- Implement and monitor an effective electronic filing system that safeguards confidential information and supports the organization of PII protocol in the electronic data systems.
- Ensure timely data entry of services and submit complete and accurate reports, including but not limited to the Beneficiary Data Base System such as MYCAP, Demographic, employment, Identification, and services monthly reports.
- Attend meetings, seminars, and workshops, and perform other duties as assigned.
Intake and Eligibility Specialist Job Qualifications:
- Associate degree or two years of post-secondary education in social science, human services, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least three years’ experience in determining eligibility and/or case management (one year of additional experience may be substituted with one year of education for up to 2 years).
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (oral and written)
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365).
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Must have a reliable car, a valid driver’s license, and adequate insurance.
- Ability to work irregular and/or flexible hours
