Who exactly are UPS Warehouse Workers/Temporary Cover Drivers? Well, they work inside as warehouse workers and when needed, they also drive our familiar brown trucks, bringing packages great and small to our customers. They’re a friendly, physically active crew who enjoy fast-paced work, and being behind the wheel! Whether you work as a warehouse worker or a temporary cover driver on a given day will depend on operational needs. While functioning as a Warehouse Worker you will be required to:
- Typically work 3 ½ - 5 hour shifts either Monday – Friday or Tuesday – Saturday
- Load/unload packages in and out of UPS trailers or our signature brown trucks

While functioning as a Temporary Cover Driver you will be required to:
- Work 8 – 10 hours each day (Monday – Friday or Tuesday – Saturday)
- Deliver packages to residences and/or businesses
- Have excellent customer service and driving skills

So, what does it take to make it through a busy shift either loading/unloading or delivering packages of all shapes and sizes to homes and businesses in your community and beyond?
- The ability to lift up to 70 lbs
- Stamina – this is a workout like no other!
- Valid driver’s license—no CDL required (License type varies by state)
- Pass the DOT physical
- Legal right to work in the U.S.
- Package Delivery Drivers are expected to comply with UPS appearance guidelines and wear the company-provided uniform

UPS full-time small package delivery drivers receive an average total compensation package of $145,000 per year. That includes $0 healthcare premiums, up to seven weeks of paid vacation, plus paid time off for holidays, sick leave, and option days.
