What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Specialist position at United Performance Metals?

Sales Functions

 Acts as the sales lead for Space and directs activities of the customer team.

  • Serves as contact point for customer and internal teams to ensure all customer needs are understood and being addressed.
  • Collaborates with internal departments to facilitate client need fulfillment.
  • Suggests solutions that answer clients’ needs and wants. Works with management to implement solutions and monitors to make sure solutions are fulfilling customer expectations.
  • Responsible for studying customer’s behavior based on data and facts to strengthen our service to the customer to improve the overall client experience.
  • Acts as a client advocate with focus on improving buyer experience.
  • Keeps accurate records pertaining to current inventory levels, forecast, and account notes.
  • Measures, tracks, and analyzes key account metrics and reports out to management.
  • Resolves complaints and works with management to find solutions to improve processes to prevent additional issues.
  • Participates in account reviews. Gathers data and reports needed and ensures consistency of approach.
  • Assist in the development of processes and tools used in the execution and management of customer programs.
  • Works with management and the Business Development Manager on the assembly of new contract and program business quotes and proposals to ensure consistency of message and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Coaches and enforces adherence to established contracts and program business processes for entire UPM sales team (includes direct and indirect reports)

 Computer Functions

Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.  Document all sales calls in Sales software and update daily.

 Purchasing

Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.

Knowledge of vendors and ability to provide feedback and strategy that might allow for a “buyout” of non-standard material.

 Market and Product Knowledge

Complete product knowledge of our UPM core product line and processing capabilities

Account awareness and knowledge of the customers' products, capabilities, and competition (both our and theirs).

Market awareness specifically regarding our competition offerings and market pricing

Ability to select the most efficient inventory item for processing
