U.S. Army Cryptologic Linguist (35P)

Overview:

Cryptologic analyst is an entry-level, enlisted job. Duties performed by Soldiers in this MOS (military occupational specialty) include:

• Identifying foreign communications from an assigned geographic area and categorizing signals by activity type
• Analyzing foreign communication for information to support mission reporting requirements
• Recognizing changes in transmission modes and tipping the appropriate analytical or intercept authority
• Providing translation expertise to analysts
• Operating systems as needed to support signals Intelligence tasking, reporting, and coordination
• Providing gist, transcription, or translation of foreign communications

Active (Full Time): As a part of a team of soldiers, you secure your future with a career in the Active-Duty Army (full-time), pay for college, guaranteed full healthcare for you and your immediate family members. Basic Qualifications:

· Age - 17 to 34 years old (35 to 38 is waivable)

· Must be an(a) US citizen or Green Card Holder

· No open law violations.

· Must pass a drug screen (Paid for)

· Must currently be in good health with no physical limitations.

Training

Job training for a plumber requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and eight weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on the job instructions. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field with on-the-job instructions, including practice in handling and storing stock.

*Advance Individual Training: 8 weeks at Fort Lee, VA*

Some of the skills you’ll learn are:

· Procedures for shipping, receiving, storing and issuing stock

· Stock control and accounting procedures

· Procedures for handling medical and food supplies

· Movement, storage and maintenance of ammunition

Compensation

Total compensation includes housing allowance, full medical insurance, tuition assistance, food allowance, special pay, vacation with pay, life insurance, maternity or paternity leave and career progression trainings.
