U.S. Army Watercraft Operator
Overview:
The radar repairer is an essential member of the Army communications maintenance team and performs maintenance on ground surveillance radar and associated equipment.
Active (Full Time): As a part of a team of soldiers, you secure your future with a career in the Active-Duty Army (full-time), pay for college, guaranteed full healthcare for you and your immediate family members. Basic Qualifications:
· Age - 17 to 34 years old (35 to 38 is waivable)
· Must be an(a) US citizen or Green Card Holder
· No open law violations.
· Must pass a drug screen (Paid for)
· Must currently be in good health with no physical limitations.
Training
Job training for a plumber requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and eight weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on the job instructions. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field with on-the-job instructions, including practice in handling and storing stock.
*Advance Individual Training: 8 weeks at Fort Lee, VA*
Some of the skills you’ll learn are:
· Procedures for shipping, receiving, storing and issuing stock
· Stock control and accounting procedures
· Procedures for handling medical and food supplies
· Movement, storage and maintenance of ammunition
Compensation
Total compensation includes housing allowance, full medical insurance, tuition assistance, food allowance, special pay, vacation with pay, life insurance, maternity or paternity leave and career progression trainings.
