Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products, recording quality results.
Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
Approves in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating required adjustments to management.
Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
Assumes leadership on the shop floor; recognizes and elevates improvement opportunities.
Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste and inputting data into quality database.
Keeps measurement equipment in operating condition by following operating instructions and calling for repairs.
4 Years experience in steel related industry preferred
Knowledge of all measuring devices, including Rockwell Hardness Device and Thread Gages
Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices, version control practices, and defect management practices.
