How you’ll contribute The Materials Management Manager role is responsible for managing the purchasing, shipping, receiving, and inventory of materials at the Christiansburg DPF facility. This role will perform receipt, storage, inventory management, logistics planning, and preparation of shipments according to approved procedures and in compliance with GMP requirements. Oversee and ensure the timely receipt, storage, issuance, and shipment of materials Plan and procure DPF facility supplies and DPF facility storage while adhering to budgetary requirements Manage direct material inventory and expensed material stock levels and perform physical inventory counts Coordinate with Operations and Quality to ensure applicable materials are released and available for use or shipment Ensure management of materials are performed safely and in compliance with cGMP requirements Author and revise material control SOPs Actively build relationships across functions and with external suppliers to bring value to the company and identify continuous improvement opportunities for material control operations Lead in planning the process and material flow, equipment, and supply needs for DPF facility Provide SAP and material control training and leadership to DPF facility staff to ensure data is timely and accurate Perform other duties as assigned For this role you will need Minimum Requirements H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) 12 years of hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging, or warehouse environment with a H.S. Diploma/GED or 10 years of hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging, or warehouse environment with an associate degree or 8 years of hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging, or warehouse environment with a bachelor's degree Knowledge of cGMP practices as they pertain to materials management, manufacturing, shipping, receiving and computer systems Ability to maintain exact and detailed records Knowledge of safe materials management procedures and practices Expertise with SAP or similar ERP system Previous experience with operation of mechanical materials management equipment Training or experience with handling, and storage of hazardous materials Ability to execute a work plan and adapt to changes in the scheduled Ability to train staff in managing material inventory Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and internet functions Good organizational skills Physical Requirements: Lifting: 50 lbs Carrying: 50 lbs Pushing and Pulling: 200 lbs (with assistance) Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in operations, logistics, or a related field At United Therapeutics, you’ll realize quickly that it is not an ordinary place to work!
