Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing valuable financial insights to support strategic decision-making. You will play a key role in maintaining financial compliance and contributing to the overall financial health of the company.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including reviewing and overseeing the general ledger, including revenue recognition and expense accruals.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Provide assistance and support for UUG Affiliate and Joint Venture Entities.
- Manage and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
- Oversee reconciliation of bank statements and other balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
- Assist and provide review and guidance on Interim and Year-End Audit reconciliations and schedules. Manage and mentor accounting staff, providing training and guidance.
- Stay up to date on accounting best practices and healthcare-specific regulations.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is required and will be verified prior to employment.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in a managerial accounting role, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and healthcare accounting practices.
- Proven experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or similar platforms.
Knowledge, Competencies & Skills:
- Knowledge of urology billing and coding practices a plus.
- Knowledge of NetSuite ERP a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong ethical standards and discretion.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
Tech Requirements for the Job:
- High-speed, reliable internet connection to ensure uninterrupted communication and access to necessary systems and tools.
- Quiet and private work environment to maintain the confidentiality of patient information and minimize background noise during calls.
- Proficiency in using remote collaboration tools, such as video conferencing software, instant messaging platforms, and customer relationship management systems.
- Compliance with all security and privacy policies and protocols, including safeguarding patient information and maintaining HIPAA compliance.

- Three (3) direct reports
Travel:
- Required to travel to corporate offices for 4 quarterly meetings a year (1 per quarter).
Physical Requirements for the Job:
- Regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods.
- Involves standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, and twisting.
- Requires full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 lbs.
