REPORTS TO: Director, Marketing

FLSA: Full-time, Exempt

PAY GRADE: 6


POSITION OVERVIEW

The Marketing Manager for UWMC and 211 will serve as a key Marcom team member, providing critical execution of United Way of Metro Chicago and 211’s day-to-day marketing and events, communications, and digital engagement projects. The Marketing Manager will serve as a detail-oriented, task manager and implementer who actively contributes to driving United Way and 211 toward meeting/exceeding identified goals.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

United Way Activities

  • Support Director of Marketing and Senior Manager, Art Director in producing and managing the advertisement and communications production schedule, ensuring that all advertisements are internally approved and trafficked on time to external media partners
  • Maintain the production schedule and delivery of all campaign materials to support the organization’s fundraising and impact activities and goals
  • Support Senior Manager of Marketing, Programs & Events in providing key logistics support for in-person and virtual events, including but not limited to setting up Zoom details for virtual events and managing the back-end production, setting up online registration forms, providing key logistics support for in person events, etc.
  • Support the Director of Marketing and Digital Content Strategist in executing simple, one-off web edit requests
  • Support the Director of Marketing in the build out of online donation forms for events and special initiatives
  • Participate in the Marcom team’s overall marketing and communications strategy development through support in brainstorming, researching best-in-class examples, copywriting, etc.


211 Activities

  • Manage and execute all simple content web edits, collaborating with the 211 Director and United Way Marcom team to ensure understanding of edit request and how best to implement
  • Support the 211 Director by serving as a day-to-day liaison working with marketing representatives from the City of Chicago, Cook County, and United Way teams to ensure approval and trafficking of all ads, communications, etc.
  • Fulfill material support requests from partners, local nonprofit organizations, etc.
  • Serve as day-to-day contact for external web agency responsible for build out of new 211metrochicago.org web features and needs


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in journalism, marketing or communications preferred or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or promotions
  • Experience working with cross-divisional teams to achieve organizational and/or project goals
  • Knowledge of the following tools/products: MS Office, MS Teams/SharePoint, Google Analytics, and Zoom virtual meeting tools
  • Familiarity with how to update WordPress or similar CMS
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience tracking and collecting digital data and performance metrics, including web, e-communications, digital advertising, and social media
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal skills required
  • Familiarity with video editing software preferred, but not required
  • Strong customer service orientation and skills. Must be a proactive and enthusiastic team member and team leader throughout the marcom department and United Way.
  • Must perform well under pressure and can juggle multiple and/or “urgent” projects
