Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as a subject matter expert on health equity across multiple research projects
Lead health equity research project teams to deliver high quality analytic results that support the achievement of strategic objectives
Apply knowledge and skills in evaluation methods, research design, statistics, data analytics and economic analysis to assess the effectiveness and costs of programs and services designed to promote health equity
Develop collaborative relationships with internal and external experts to support the Health Equity Research and Analytics team agenda
Drive relationships with external partners to facilitate and/or enhance execution of research and/or expand our portfolio of data assets
Advance dissemination of results via published manuscripts, professional conferences, and internal presentations
Develop strategies to advance the quality of the research team deliverables and efficiency of processes
Mentor and train research staff as needed

Required Qualifications:
A master's or doctoral degree in health services research (HSR), health economics, epidemiology, sociology, psychology or equivalent, or PharmD or MD
5 years of health care research experience
5 years of research experience with claims data, EHR, and other observational data assets
Experience driving health disparities and current challenges in the field
Experience independently designing, leading, and conducting health care research projects
Experience designing research studies involving collection of patient-reported outcomes using survey research methodologies
Experience conducting health economics, epidemiological, comparative effectiveness, population management, or related research in various disease or policy areas
Demonstrated experience in data-driven research
Demonstrated experience managing all aspects of health care research projects including management of teams across multiple functional areas
Knowledge of measures and analytic approaches used to identify challenges and track improvements in equitable care

Preferred Qualifications:
Proven record of publication in peer-reviewed literature and presentation at national conferences
Expertise in a specific clinical area (e.g., oncology, cardio-metabolic, rare disease)
Solid interpersonal savvy and the ability to build relationships both internally and outside the enterprise
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, particularly to audiences of varying skill levels

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $113,500 to $218,100. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $113,500 to $218,100. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
