Medical scribes, or medical transcriptionists, assist physicians or other healthcare professionals by performing clerical tasks and taking notes during patient consultations. Medical scribes generally use an electronic health record (EHR) system to record the patient information.
Location: (This position is onsite.) Rutherford, NJ
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, hours vary. Occasional Saturday shift (8:30-1pm)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Accurately scribe as the physician is examining patient
- Maintain adherence to transcription quality assurance standards
- Demonstrate appropriate grammar, punctuation and style standards when transcribing/ editing provider dictations
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pharmacology
- Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology for appropriate medical specialties
- Demonstrate knowledge of medical / surgical procedures and equipment for appropriate medical specialties
- Demonstrate knowledge of medications / dosages for appropriate medical specialties

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working with Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel to Belleville NJ location when needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work experience as a medical scribe in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Experience with Epic EMR
- Solid understanding of medical terminology from education or previous on-the-job training
- Ability to type 60 words per minute
New Jersey Residents Only: The hourly range for New Jersey residents is $16.54 to $32.55 per hour.
