The Proposal Project Manager (PPM) manages the overall RFP process for all pharmacy products for the sales and client management organization.
The Proposal Project Manager (PPM) supports Optum Rx’s sales and client retention efforts by managing competitive and compelling responses to Health Plan Requests for Proposals (RFPs). The PPM is responsible for project management and completion of all proposal and proposal related documents, i.e., planning, scheduling, organizing, and coordinating all elements of the proposal deliverable.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Thorough review of all RFP documents and sales strategy documents specific to opportunity
- Create and maintain overall project timeline
- Coordinate all strategy calls, including internal team calls
- Direct all calls, compile and distribute notes, clearly identifying actionable items
- Coordinate/lead project touch base calls with all pertinent resources
- Communicate overall project health
- Identify project risks
- Escalate risks to leadership
- Manage internal team items (PGs, standard and non-standard items, pricing items, and coordinate all analysis requests)
- Submit for Sales Review Final Strategic
- Handle final consultant and/or customer submission
- Complete project work as assigned accurately and within specified deadlines
- Project close-out - update project tracking log with key deliverables
Additional responsibilities include:
- Complete project work as assigned accurately and within specified deadlines
- Participate in relevant training opportunities that will enhance both individual performance and overall unit performance

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (2 years of experience 2 years of education)
- 2 years of experience writing RFPs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience writing RFP’s within Pharmacy Benefits Management
- Experience writing RFP’s in Healthcare Industry
- Experience with complex bid RFP’s
- Experience with Healthplan client bids
- Familiarity with RFPIO or other RFP content database
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strategic and Critical thinking skills
- Flexible, proactive, and able to cope with ever changing conditions
- Self-starter and ability to work independently
- Ability to follow and meet project timelines
- Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Able to multi-task and keep track of various project pieces

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
