You will perform mathematical analyses and actuarial modeling to identify statistical findings and conclusions. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform quantitative analysis and model development on diverse data analytics-focused projects, with the goal of identifying actionable insights for clients
  • Design and run complex data programs
  • Understand and contribute to building pipelines of predictive ML models in R and Python
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with our broader product team within a coding environment, while adhering to model development and maintenance best practices
  • Prepare information for clients, build reports, and assist with project scheduling and coordination of tasks
  • Develop strategic working relationships with clients
  • Execute creative problem solving and critical thinking on the job

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (STEM field) or equivalent experience
  • Passed a minimum of 1 or more Actuarial exams or equivalent experience
  • 4 years of experience performing qualitative and/or quantitative analysis, overseeing day-to-day management of project tasks and preparing presentations and reports for clients 
  • 3 years of experience with the developing and deploying statistical models in a business setting
  • 2 years of experience working with a coding language (R, Python, VBA) 
  • 2 years of experience with MS Excel, including the ability to work with formulas, calculations, charts, graphs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or related field or nearly qualified Actuary
  • 3 years of consultancy and/or actuarial industry experience
  • Customer-facing experience, including communication of results and ad-hoc client support requests
  • Solid technical aptitude, such as programming experience with other languages/platforms including: SAS, SQL, DataBricks
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and use computer software tools effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including written and verbal forms of communication
  • Proven flexibility to handle changing priorities/requirements/deadlines

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
