UnitedHealthcare Community & State is seeking a Senior Financial Consultant to join the segment's Operating Cost Finance team. The Senior Financial Consultant will be an integral part of the Finance team supporting the Individual and Family Plans (IFP) finance team. This role is responsible for forecasting, financial analysis, reporting, and various financial functions within the operating costs team, specific to the IFP product. A Senior Financial Consultant will demonstrate the ability to perform detailed analyses, properly forecast and analyze operating costs, and successfully collaborate with the team. The position will work on a daily basis with others on the overall Community & State Finance team, collaborate extensively with our business and health plan partners, and must be comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform quarterly forecasting and ongoing analysis of the IFP Operating Costs for the Exchange health plans 
• Creating and updating operating cost reports specific to the IFP product
• Perform pricing and start-up cost analysis for each IFP health plan and state
• Collaborate closely with the IFP finance team by creating and producing regular reporting and information sharing
• Providing finance support around existing plans as well as new business opportunities within IFP
• Proactively seek opportunities to improve processes and identify areas of improvement
• Participate in a wide variety of special projects and ad hoc analysis

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• 4 years of progressive financial planning and analysis experience
• Experience with enterprise financial systems such as PeopleSoft/Essbase
• Advanced Excel skills: data analysis & report generation (formulas, calculations, pivot tables, charts, graphs, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree
• Experience with Individual Exchange products
• Health insurance experience

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600.
