**This is a traveling role that includes mileage reimbursement.  Employees will also receive an additional $2.00 per hour on days they travel to an alternate location from their base practice location.**

It is time to take your career to the next level. In this Medical Assistant role, you will learn from healthcare experts as you work side by side to provide care for patients in a clinic setting. **The MA/EMT will receive training and a course for completion to receive their Radiology License to take images below the knee.

Position Details:

• Locations: 3631 N Morrison Road, Muncie, 47304 is the home location / Kokomo at 2341 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, 46902
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4pm / No evenings, weekends, or holidays!
• Specialty: Foot & Ankle

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment & instruments
• Room patients, obtain health history and check vital signs
• Document patient care using electronic medical record software
• Assist providers with minor, in-office procedures and perform point-of-care testing
• Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals and answer patient calls as needed

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or completion of an equivalent adult education program
• Medical Assistant diploma, technical certificate or certification OR 1 years of experience performing the critical skills of a medical assistant after on-the-job training OR Current enrollment in an accredited medical assistant training program OR Active EMT certification accredited
• Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. Candidates must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPR certification
• Active medical assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA or RMA)
• Experience working as a Medical Assistant or EMT
• Experience with electronic medical record software
• Experience performing medical back office tasks including obtaining vital signs, injections/immunizations, phlebotomy, urinalysis and administering medications
• Experience performing medical front office tasks including scheduling appointments, prior authorizations, medication refills and referrals
