You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- You'll provide design execution for our product portfolio that supports our business and the interactions we have with Optum and Optum Financial
- As a subject matter expert in visual design, using advanced visual mockups, you will generate interactive final versions of the user interface for both leadership socialization and developmental readiness
- You'll present designs and insights to key stakeholders. An effective presentation grounded on good storytelling. You'll walk through your work and articulate how it will allow a user to achieve their goals while also delivering on essential business objectives. It is partnering with business, research, product, and tech teams on complex problems that lead to highly functional, accessible, elegant, and engaging solutions
- You'll participate in user research in close collaboration with our UX and organizational research teams and contribute to the design and facilitation of various research methods to obtain critical insights about users, their behaviors, motivations, and needs. Then, supporting post-research data analysis and synthesis, you will help convert those findings into qualitative and quantitative information that guides decision-making
- You'll determine the information architecture of a digital product. Then, by adequately organizing content based on the mental model of a user and appropriate classifications, you will help guide and educate users so that wayfinding and task completion are efficient, intuitive, and effective
- You are designing user flows and wireframes. In this highly iterative phase, you will build many simplified, low-fidelity concepts of a user's journey to validate through feedback and testing
- You'll test the product on real users. In another significant phase of the UX process, you will be partnering with UX Research to confirm the viability of solutions and identify areas of improvement using both structured and unstructured research methods

Required Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience with each of the following:
- Visual Design
- Information Architecture
- Content Strategy
- Interaction Design
- UX Research
- Sketch or Figma
- Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator
- Invision or other prototyping platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or certification from a UX-related program (Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Technology)
- 3 years of experience with the following:
- Digital Graphics/Web Design/Visual Design
- UX Research (design and facilitation)
- Product analytics, NPS and Voice of the Customer data
- The iterative design processes
- Working within a product team or with stakeholders
- Accessibility guidelines

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
